Condemn Violence and Threats Targeting Elected Officials

Maine and Colorado both attempted to bar Donald Trump from the ballot in 2024 due to his role in inciting the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Now, top officials in both states are facing death threats and other threats of violence from Trump supporters.

Add your name to our petition if you agree that threats of political violence are never acceptable.

"Within three weeks of the lawsuit being filed, I received 64 death threats. I stopped counting after that," Secretary of State Jena Griswold said. "I will not be intimidated. Democracy and peace will triumph over tyranny and violence."

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Belows hasn't just received threats – she was also swatted.

"Our home was swatted last night. That’s when someone calls in a fake emergency to evoke a strong law enforcement response to scare the target," Bellows wrote. "Swatting incidents have resulted in casualties although thankfully this one did not."

It's time for decent people everywhere to stand up and say "enough is enough." Sign our petition today to condemn violence and threats targeting elected officials.
