Cheer the Nationwide “Fight the Trump Takeover” Movement

A powerful coalition of more than three dozen progressive organizations — including the Democratic National Committee, MoveOn, Indivisible, Planned Parenthood, the Human Rights Campaign, and the Texas AFL-CIO — is joining forces to resist Trump-backed gerrymandering in Texas and defend the future of our democracy.

This Saturday, they’ll host 50+ rallies in 20 states under the banner “Fight the Trump Takeover” — with the main event at the Texas State Capitol in Austin — to oppose a redistricting scheme that could hand Republicans up to five extra U.S. House seats and silence millions of voters, especially in Black and Latino communities.

These rallies send a clear message: no politician should be allowed to change the rules mid-game to cling to power. Texas Democrats have already taken bold action by leaving the state to deny a quorum and block the gerrymander. Now, people nationwide are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them to protect fair maps and equal representation.
