Cheer the Court’s Ruling to Block Trump’s Anti-Voting Order

A federal judge has just blocked key parts of Donald Trump’s latest anti-voting executive order—protecting the freedom to vote for millions of Americans. The ruling halts Trump’s attempts to require burdensome proof of citizenship and reject mail ballots received after Election Day—measures that would have disproportionately disenfranchised Black and low-income voters.

Judge Denise Casper rightly ruled that these provisions would cause chaos, confusion, and unnecessary costs for states, and undermine trust in our elections. It’s the second time a federal court has stopped this dangerous order, sending a clear message: our democracy cannot be undermined by executive overreach.
