Celebrate Pennsylvania’s Major Win for Democracy!

Voters have re-elected three Democratic justices to the state’s Supreme Court — Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht — preserving a 5–2 Democratic majority for the next decade and defeating a well-funded right-wing campaign to flip control of the court.

This is more than just a local win — it’s a victory for voting rights, fair maps, and reproductive freedom. Since 2015, Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court has been a critical firewall for democracy — striking down one of the worst GOP gerrymanders in the nation, protecting mail-in voting, and blocking Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

Right-wing billionaires and extremist PACs poured millions into this race, spreading disinformation and trying to buy the court. But Pennsylvanians sent a clear message: our courts are not for sale.
