Celebrate Judge Howell’s Ruling Against Trump’s Retaliation!

We celebrate U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell's decision to temporarily block key parts of President Trump’s retaliatory executive order targeting Perkins Coie, a law firm known for its work representing Democratic clients. This ruling is a victory for the rule of law, the First Amendment, and due process protections—fundamental principles that should never be compromised for political retribution.

Trump’s executive order sought to bar Perkins Coie personnel from entering federal buildings, force government contractors to disclose ties to the firm, and attack the firm for its legal representation of political opponents. Judge Howell rightfully ruled that this order likely violates free speech protections, due process rights, and the constitutional right to legal representation.
