Applaud the Utah Courts for Striking Down Gerrymandering

In a huge victory for democracy, the Utah Supreme Court has denied the legislature’s attempt to keep its gerrymandered congressional map in place — ordering lawmakers to draw a new, fair map by September 25.

This decision ensures that Utahns will head to the polls with districts that actually reflect their communities, not the partisan interests of politicians. It’s a win for voters, for fairness, and for the principle that the people — not politicians — should choose their representatives.

Thanks to the tireless work of the League of Women Voters of Utah, Mormon Women for Ethical Government, and everyday voters who brought this case, our democracy is stronger today. Their courage to stand up to entrenched power proves that when citizens fight back, justice can prevail.

Add your name to applaud this landmark decision, stand with the Utahans who fought for fair maps, and demand an end to gerrymandering everywhere.
