Applaud the Transgender Service Members Fighting for Justice

We stand in solidarity with Master Sgt. Logan Ireland and Staff Sgt. Nicholas Bear Bade, two brave transgender service members who are challenging the Trump administration’s discriminatory executive orders targeting transgender troops. Their lawsuit defends the right of all transgender Americans to serve openly and pushes back against unjust policies that would strip them of their careers and dignity.

The administration’s attempts to erase trans people from the military are harmful, baseless, and deeply unjust. Research has repeatedly shown that transgender troops serve with honor, courage, and distinction, and banning them weakens our military—not strengthens it.

We applaud Ireland, Bade, GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights for their unwavering commitment to justice. Their fight is about more than just military service; it is about equality, dignity, and the fundamental rights of all LGBTQ+ Americans.

We call on lawmakers, courts, and the public to reject these cruel policies and demand an armed forces where all who are willing and able to serve are treated with the respect they deserve.
