Applaud the Ruling Protecting International Students

We applaud U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White for his powerful decision to block the Trump administration from revoking the legal status of thousands of international students — a move that offers critical protection to young people who came to the U.S. to learn, grow, and contribute.

Judge White’s nationwide injunction halts the unjust and chaotic policy that led to more than 4,700 international students having their legal status terminated this spring with little notice or explanation. His ruling makes clear: abrupt, mass cancellations of student visas without due process are not only reckless — they’re unlawful.

This decision affirms what so many of us know to be true: international students strengthen our communities, enrich our classrooms, and deserve dignity and fair treatment. Education should never be politicized, and no one should live in fear of deportation for pursuing opportunity.
