Applaud the Introduction of the No Secret Police Act

Here’s a powerful move worth celebrating: Reps. Adriano Espaillat and Dan Goldman have just introduced the No Secret Police Act, a bold piece of legislation that would end the Trump administration’s dangerous use of masked, unidentified federal agents, including ICE, operating in immigrant communities and public spaces without accountability.

This bill would require all DHS and ICE agents to clearly display their identification and official badges when carrying out arrests or detentions. No more anonymous agents dragging people away outside courthouses. No more secret raids that echo authoritarian regimes. Just transparency, oversight, and accountability.

In the face of rising attacks on civil liberties, this legislation is a critical step toward restoring public trust, protecting immigrant communities, and upholding democratic norms.

Add your name to applaud Reps. Espaillat and Goldman for standing up for accountability, human rights, and the safety of all our communities.
