Applaud the 16 States Fighting for Trans Youth Health Care

Sixteen states and Washington, D.C. just took a bold and compassionate stand — filing a powerful lawsuit to stop the Trump administration’s politically motivated attacks on doctors, hospitals, and families who provide or seek gender-affirming care for minors.

This landmark lawsuit, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, challenges the administration’s attempt to criminalize transition-related care and unlawfully collect private medical data from providers. It sends a clear message: states will not be bullied into abandoning trans youth or compromising their constitutional rights.

From California and Connecticut to Illinois and Pennsylvania, they’re standing up for evidence-based medicine, basic dignity, and the freedom for every family to access health care without fear or harassment.
