Applaud States Suing Trump to Protect Education Funding

As the new school year approaches, millions of students and educators face an unnecessary crisis. The Trump administration has paused over $6 billion in federal education funding, threatening after-school programs, teacher preparation, workforce training, and more.

But dozens of Democratic governors and state attorneys general aren’t backing down. Leaders from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, California, Washington, and beyond have filed a lawsuit demanding the release of these vital funds. They’re fighting to ensure our schools have the resources they need to serve every student, especially those in rural and high-poverty communities.

North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson said it best: “This is plainly against the law… and we’re going to do everything we can to stop it.”

Add your name to applaud these states for defending our children, teachers, and schools. Together, we can stand up for education and stop this dangerous overreach before it devastates communities nationwide.
