Applaud State AGs for Defending Scientific Research

We applaud the 16 state attorneys general who are standing up to the Trump administration’s politically driven attack on public health and scientific research. Their lawsuit challenges the unlawful termination of over 900 NIH grants — many focused on LGBTQ+ health, gender identity, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

These grants support life-saving medical research and represent decades of progress in making health care more inclusive, data-driven, and responsive to the needs of all communities.

We thank Attorney General Letitia James and her fellow AGs for fighting back against this reckless disregard for science, medicine, and human dignity. America’s public health system should be guided by evidence — not politics.
