After the Supreme Court ruled that President Trump exceeded his authority in imposing sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, Senate Democrats introduced legislation requiring the administration to refund up to $175 billion in unlawfully collected duties.

The Court made clear that the tariffs were invalid. Now, Senate Democrats are working to ensure that the consequences are real — and that the people and businesses who paid the price are made whole.
