Applaud Govs Calling for Tariff Refunds for Our Families

Families across America paid the price for Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs—and now governors are stepping up to demand justice.

After courts ruled the tariffs unconstitutional, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee called on the federal government to refund families for the higher costs they were forced to pay. In Massachusetts alone, the average household paid an estimated $1,745 because of Trump’s tariffs.

That’s real money for working families—money spent on groceries, rent, and everyday essentials while corporations passed tariff costs straight to consumers.

These governors are doing the right thing by standing up for their residents and demanding accountability.

Now more leaders must join them. If enough governors and lawmakers demand refunds, Washington will face greater pressure to listen.
