Applaud Fired FBI Employees for Fighting For Accountability

Federal law enforcement officers should be able to follow the facts and uphold the law without fear of political retaliation—and nine former FBI employees are taking legal action to defend that principle.

The group of FBI agents, intelligence analysts, and staff specialists has filed a federal lawsuit challenging their February 2026 firings after working on the investigation into President Trump's handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. The employees argue that they were dismissed simply for carrying out their assigned duties, without any investigation, advance notice, or opportunity to defend themselves.

Together, the nine employees have more than a century of public service, including work investigating the Boston Marathon bombing, recovering American hostages, and responding to national security threats. Their lawsuit alleges that FBI Director Kash Patel's leadership targeted them based on assumptions about their political loyalties rather than evidence of misconduct. Patel has defended the bureau's terminations, maintaining that employees who engaged in inappropriate conduct were removed.

Now, these former public servants are seeking reinstatement, back pay, and a court ruling declaring their firings unlawful. Their legal challenge raises important questions about due process, the independence of federal law enforcement, and whether government employees can be punished for investigating powerful political figures.

Add your name to applaud these nine former FBI employees for challenging their firings, standing up against alleged political retaliation, and fighting for accountability and the rule of law!
