Applaud Environmental Advocates Fighting for Clean Air

This summer, Trump granted more than 100 industrial polluters — including chemical manufacturers, oil refineries, and coal plants — a two-year exemption from Clean Air Act rules that limit cancer-causing emissions like ethylene oxide and chloroprene. These toxic gases are linked to severe health risks, especially in working-class and Black and brown communities already burdened by pollution.

Now, environmental groups across the nation are fighting back in court — arguing that Trump’s blanket exemptions are illegal, dangerous, and morally indefensible. They’re standing up for every family who deserves clean air, for every child growing up near a factory, and for the principle that no president can put corporate profits above public safety.
