In a powerful show of leadership, Democratic governors across the country are standing up to President Trump’s dangerous misuse of military power.

After Trump deployed National Guard troops and active-duty Marines to Los Angeles—over the objections of California’s governor and local leaders—governors including Kathy Hochul (NY), JB Pritzker (IL), and Tim Walz (MN) are calling it what it is: an attack on our values, our Constitution, and our democracy.

Their message is clear: the military should never be used to intimidate American citizens or silence peaceful protest. This is not how democracy works—and they won’t let it stand.
