Applaud Democratic Attorneys General Standing Up to JD Vance

Democratic attorneys general across the country are standing up for real public service over political theater — and they deserve applause.

More than 20 Democratic AGs refused to participate in Vice President JD Vance’s so-called anti-fraud roundtable after learning Republican attorneys general were invited days earlier while Democratic officials received last-minute invitations with virtually no notice or agenda.

These leaders made clear they are committed to fighting fraud and protecting taxpayer dollars — but they refused to legitimize what they described as a partisan political stunt designed to divide states and score political points.

They also raised serious concerns that the Trump administration is cutting critical federal oversight and weakening the very agencies responsible for combating Medicaid fraud and protecting public programs.

This is about integrity, accountability, and honest governance. Americans deserve real solutions and genuine bipartisan cooperation — not staged events meant to create headlines while undermining public institutions behind the scenes.
