Applaud Court for Protecting SF Housing Funds From Trump

We applaud U.S. District Judge Barbara Jacobs Rothstein for her decisive action in blocking the Trump administration’s unlawful attempt to strip critical housing funds from San Francisco and other local governments.

This temporary restraining order protects nearly 2,000 vulnerable residents in San Francisco alone from the threat of eviction, and prevents the administration from enforcing extremist new grant conditions tied to anti-DEI mandates, immigration crackdowns, abortion restrictions, and gender discrimination. These requirements were never approved by Congress and have no connection to the core mission of federal housing assistance.

Thanks to this ruling, life-saving funding for rental assistance and services for the chronically homeless remains intact — for now. But the fight is far from over.

We stand with San Francisco, Santa Clara County, Boston, New York City, Columbus, and the coalition of local governments that took bold legal action to defend constitutional rights, human dignity, and the communities they serve.

Sign this petition to applaud the court’s ruling and demand continued protection for housing programs under attack by ideological overreach. Housing is a human right — and no administration should be allowed to sabotage it for political gain.
