Applaud Congress for War Powers Resolution to Block Trump

A bipartisan coalition in Congress is taking a courageous stand to prevent Donald Trump from dragging the United States into an illegal and dangerous war with Venezuela. Led by Reps. Jim McGovern and Joaquin Castro, lawmakers have introduced a bipartisan War Powers Resolution to stop Trump from launching attacks without congressional authorization.

Their action comes as Trump escalates deadly boat bombings — which have already killed more than 80 people — and openly threatens strikes on Venezuelan soil. Members of Congress are sounding the alarm: Trump is bypassing the Constitution, risking lives, destabilizing the Western Hemisphere, and pushing the U.S. toward conflict without debate or approval.

This bipartisan resolution affirms a simple, vital principle: the president cannot unilaterally commit the United States to war.
