If you’ve ever received medical care, you’ve probably noticed that some of the nurses seem like they’re in a huge hurry. That’s because, in some cases, they’re caring for as many as 10 patients at the same time. The fact is, despite having people’s lives in their hands, nurses are often overworked and underpaid. The COVID-19 pandemic, which has put nurses in harm’s way each and every day for more than two years now, has only exacerbated that dynamic. That’s why thousands of nurses marched on the U.S. Capitol on May 12, National Nurses Day, to demand fair wages, safe-staffing ratios, and protection against workplace violence. Sign our petition if yo uagree that nurses deserve fair wages and better workplace protections.
