This June, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in support of local laws that criminalize sleeping in public spaces—effectively making it a crime to be unhoused. 

Criminalizing homelessness will not make our communities safer. Policing poverty is a misguided, ineffective, and often discriminatory approach to public safety.
