Win Without War

Add your name: End War Profiteering in Congress!

Lawmakers are allowed to profit from billion-dollar weapons contracts while voting on war and weapons spending.

It’s corruption, plain and simple. But it’s become business as usual.

Last year, at least 50 U.S. lawmakers or their family members took advantage. They hold stocks in major weapons contractors like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Raytheon — the same companies that rake in BILLIONS of dollars from the Pentagon contracts that Congress signs off on. In 2023, these investments netted nearly $11 million in potential dividends and payouts.

Now, as Trump and Defense Secretary Hegseth tout plans for a $1 TRILLION Pentagon budget, weapons corporation stock is soaring. That means there's more money to be made. We need to break this corrupt cycle before it deepens further.

Here’s the good news: Rep. Rashida Tlaib has introduced a desperately needed bill, the Stop Politicians Profiting from War Act (H.R. 1756), to do it. This legislation would prohibit members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children from holding ANY financial interests in companies that do business with the Pentagon.

It’ll be an uphill fight to dismantle the incentive structures baked into our legislative branch. But by taking action today, you’ll not only strengthen the political resolve of members of Congress to pass this long-overdue bill, you’ll also send the lawmakers who would consider profiting from weapons and war a loud and clear reminder that you’re paying close attention and demand better than a corrupt status quo.

We need to send a clear message to the House: End the cycle of corruption and war profiteering. Click here to show you support the Stop Politicians Profiting from War Act!
