Abolish the Filibuster to Restore Reproductive Rights

In a recent interview on Wisconsin Public Radio, Vice President Kamala Harris made it clear: she supports abolishing the filibuster to restore reproductive rights and will prioritize this effort if she becomes president. 

This moment presents a crucial opportunity. If Democrats win the White House and maintain control of the Senate, we can finally take the bold action needed to protect women’s reproductive freedom nationwide.

Since the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, women across the country have been harmed. Some have been charged with murder for seeking abortions, while others have died due to being denied necessary reproductive care. 

The blame for this injustice falls squarely on Donald Trump, who appointed the justices responsible for overturning Roe—a decision he continues to brag about.

The solution is within reach, but only if Senate Democrats have the courage to act. The filibuster has been used time and again to block essential legislation, including protections for reproductive rights. By eliminating it, Democrats can pass federal laws that protect women from the dangerous consequences of the Supreme Court’s ruling.
