Tell Coke and Pepsi: Stop Fighting Public Health Laws

Coke and Pepsi are using their money and legal power to fight the very public health laws designed to protect children, families, and consumers.

A new investigation found that major food and beverage companies have filed hundreds of lawsuits around the world against policies meant to reduce diet-related disease.

These lawsuits have targeted soda taxes, front-of-package warning labels, junk food advertising limits, and other basic protections that help people make informed choices and help governments protect public health.

While Coca-Cola and PepsiCo publicly claim to care about consumers, the industry is working behind the scenes to delay, weaken, or derail laws that could save lives.

Tell Coca-Cola CEO Henrique Braun and PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta: Stop fighting public health laws and stop using lawsuits to block nutrition labels, soda taxes, and limits on junk food marketing.

Diet-related diseases are driving preventable suffering around the world, hitting children and low-income communities especially hard. Families deserve clear information about what they are buying.

Parents deserve protection from aggressive junk food marketing. Communities deserve policies that help reduce disease instead of corporate attacks that keep unhealthy products easier to sell.

These companies should not be using courts and trade groups to intimidate governments out of protecting their own people.

Add your name now to demand that Coke and Pepsi stop fighting laws that protect children, consumers, and public health.

The petition to Coca-Cola CEO Henrique Braun and PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta reads:

"Stop using lawsuits, legal threats, and trade associations to delay, weaken, or derail public health laws. Respect governments’ right to protect children and consumers through nutrition labels, soda taxes, junk food advertising restrictions, and other evidence-based public health policies."
