Once again, Republicans are stooping to disgraceful lows, this time spreading racist lies about Haitian immigrants in Ohio. JD Vance, the Trump campaign, Ted Cruz, and other Republican leaders are echoing a baseless claim that Haitian immigrants are attacking pets and wildlife in local communities—a disgusting attempt to stoke fear and hatred among low-information white voters ahead of the elections. This vile accusation is not only false but also deeply rooted in racist, anti-immigrant sentiment. The local Ohio police department has confirmed there are no reports of Haitian immigrants harming pets or wildlife. Despite this clear debunking, Republicans continue to amplify this lie, showing that they’re willing to say anything, no matter how harmful, to win votes. It's disappointing, but sadly not surprising, that Republicans would resort to such desperate, racist tactics. These lies are meant to dehumanize Haitian immigrants, feed into xenophobic fears, and distract from the real issues affecting Americans. But we can’t let this go unanswered. Join us in standing up against the dangerous, racist rhetoric Republicans are using to divide communities. Let’s send a clear message: We reject their lies, and we demand better from elected officials.
