Applaud the Democrats in Congress Standing Up for Peace

In a powerful stand for democracy and peace, 12 Democratic military veterans in Congress are leading the charge to ensure that no president can launch military strikes without congressional approval. 

After President Trump ordered airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities without consulting Congress, these veterans—who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and beyond—stepped up to say: enough. They’re backing a War Powers Resolution to restore the constitutional balance and keep our country from rushing into another endless war. These leaders haven’t forgotten the lessons of the past. 

They know the costs of conflict, and they are choosing courage, integrity, and responsibility. Their message is clear: the path to lasting security is through accountability, not unilateral action.
